‘For Your Sins’ is quintessential. The album effortlessly navigates through a range of genres with incredible skill. With such excellent execution, this debut album showcases their talents alongside some of the greatest music icons right now - showing you that Dea Matrona are here to stay.

From the infectious funk of tracks like ‘Stuck on You’ and ‘Did Nobody Ever Love You’ to the tender beauty of ‘Won’t Feel Like This Forever’ and ‘Every Night I Want You’, it's clear that nothing can get in the way of this duo’s creative prowess. It's a debut that ticks a lot of boxes, explores a lot of genres, and is powered by an unwavering energy that is uniquely feminine.

‘Red Button’, track 3, is a crowd-pleaser for sure. The track boasts an infectious chorus that ingrains itself in the listener's mind from the get-go. The guitar takes centre stage at just the right times, creating a dynamic energy that drives it forward. With catchy hooks and flawless instrumentation, this track stands out as an anthem bound to make a lasting impact on audiences everywhere - for sure to go down well live!

Track 10, ‘Dead Man’s Heart’, sees the band venturing into uncharted territory with the ultimate rockabilly vibes. The blend of acoustic guitar and bass drum forms a seamless backdrop for the vocals, before the slide guitar steals the show, evoking a Texas-like atmosphere.

The decision to conclude the album with ‘Black Rain’ is spot-on, as it confirms the band's skills perfectly. The transition from acoustic to electric guitar is precisely executed, maintaining a cohesive sound throughout. The drums serve as the backbone, anchoring the various elements and allowing them to soar unrestricted.

You can listen to ‘For Your Sins’ from May 3rd on all major streaming platforms. If you like what you hear, the girls are going on tour this year - find out more here.
